The race result
Ten hours at Road Atlanta
Petit Le Mans brings the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season to a close with a ten-hour race. In Aston Martin’s official post-race report, the #23 Valkyrie is confirmed in fifth place overall, equalling the result achieved at Road America earlier in 2026.
The car led at several points in the final three hours and remained in the fight for a podium. Full-course yellow periods affected the strategy, and a late drive-through penalty preceded the fifth-place finish.
It was a return to a significant venue: Valkyrie earned its first global podium at Road Atlanta with second place in 2025.
The Valkyrie programme
A V12 with an endurance mission
The racing Valkyrie competes in IMSA’s GTP category and the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar class. It was developed from the Valkyrie production car by Aston Martin and THOR, using a race-optimised carbon-fibre chassis and a modified 6.5-litre V12.
Those shared origins are part of the interest for Aston Martin followers. The competition car is engineered for endurance regulations, so its race specification and power limit should be read separately from the road-going Valkyrie’s figures.
