INEOS Grenadier goes trackside with Monaco Fire Brigade as official motorsport response vehicles

INEOS Automotive has been appointed by the Automobile Club of Monaco as an official emergency services vehicle supplier. Nine Grenadier Quartermasters will be trackside during the Principality’s prestigious schedule of historic, electric and Formula 1 races.

Five Quartermaster Chassis Cabs have been prepared by Tuga Fire in Portugal, an INEOS-approved convertor that specialises in transforming vehicles for heavy-duty use by emergency services. A total of nine vehicles will be used by the Monaco Fire Brigade, the official Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Monaco, to deliver vital trackside support throughout the peak motorsport season.

The converted vehicles feature red livery highlighted by fluorescent yellow signage integrated into their design and are capable of carrying up to four firefighters. Operating as true rapid intervention vehicles for driver extraction and fire suppression, their custom-built rear body is specifically configured to carry extrication equipment and a high-performance firefighting unit for fire attacks using either water or treated water. The rear provides immediate, ergonomic access to all safety equipment tailored to the specific requirements of motorsport events. The factory-fitted High Load Electrical Preparation powers a comprehensive light and sound warning system (lightbar, strobe lights, and area scene lighting). Aside from an uprated rear suspension to support the equipment, the technical base required no further structural modifications, and all original parts remain covered by INEOS Automotive’s five-year warranty.

“The Grenadier underwent rigorous testing to ensure its capability to safely and effectively meet the extreme demands of an extraction and fire response vehicle, particularly on the Monaco circuit as well as on the roads of the WRC Monte-Carlo Rally. Monaco's firefighters have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Grenadier and have been deeply impressed by its strength and durability.”

Separately, INEOS Automotive has entered a six-year agreement with the Automobile Club of Monaco, supplying four further Grenadier Quartermasters to extend trackside assistance during the busiest period of the season. All nine vehicles were officially unveiled on 5 June by Albert II, Prince of Monaco, during the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix weekend. Outside of the Principality’s motorsport events, these vehicles will be fully integrated into the daily operational missions of the Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Monaco.

“This acquisition demonstrates the close collaboration between the Automobile Club of Monaco and the Monaco Fire and Emergency Services regarding the technical and functional requirements of both entities. The modularity of these vehicles, adapted for use on track, rallies, and in urban environments, will strongly contribute to the ongoing improvement of the safety of the Automobile Club’s sporting events.”
Eric Barrabino - Events Director, Automotible Club of Monaco

The Grenadier was launched in 2022 as a global 4X4 that combines rugged British spirit and design with German engineering rigour. Its body-on-frame construction provides huge versatility for customisation, which is now benefitting fire, police and rescue services in numerous countries around the world.
