A fresh view of an Alpine icon
The A310, seen through today’s eyes
Some cars are recognisable before you can read the badge. The original Alpine A310 is one of them, with its low stance, sharp lines and distinctive seventies silhouette. Alpine has returned to that shape for A310 VISION, a one-off concept revealed at the 2026 Paris Motor Show.
The connection is more than a familiar name. Alpine’s designers worked with an original A310 in the studio, studying its proportions and drawing by hand before developing a contemporary interpretation. The result brings that unmistakable character into a new setting, with aluminium bodywork, a dark lower section and a semi-transparent canopy.
Alpine is clear about the purpose of the car: it is an independent design study. It gives enthusiasts a closer look at the brand’s creative thinking while the current Alpine range remains the place to start a buying conversation.
55 years of the A310
Heritage with a new point of view
The four-cylinder A310 made its debut in 1971. Five years later, the V6 brought a more muscular interpretation, including wider bodywork. Their 55th and 50th anniversaries give this year’s concept a particularly fitting starting point.
A310 VISION takes inspiration from both. Its clean overall shape recalls the earlier car, while the broad rear and planted stance bring the V6’s presence into the design. The triangular, “A”-shaped wheels are another nod to the original’s full-metal wheel design.
Rather than repeating every detail, Alpine has focused on what made the A310 memorable: confident proportions, a clear silhouette and a sporting character that feels unmistakably its own.
The details to look for
A shape worth exploring
From above, the centre blade leads the eye along the car towards the rear. At the front, Alpine describes a “pop-down” headlight effect, with the lights integrated into a change in the surface. The bonnet’s S-duct and the split rear wing give the concept its own visual language.
The cabin is deliberately suggestive rather than a finished production interior. Through the canopy, Alpine shows organic seat shapes, bold blocks of colour and physical controls inspired by Hi-Fi equipment. These details extend the design story without turning the concept into a specification sheet for a car on sale.

Alpine Performance Platform
Freedom to explore
Alpine says its new Alpine Performance Platform (APP) allows designers to investigate different proportions, volumes and interpretations of the brand’s styling. A310 VISION is an example of that freedom, with the concept’s low roof, broad body and sculptural surfaces taking centre stage.
The manufacturer has not attached a UK sales price or delivery date to A310 VISION. For now, its appeal is the design itself: a chance to see a familiar Alpine idea from a new angle.
