The MGS9 uses an advanced plug-in hybrid system to provide the best of both worlds: up to 62 miles of WLTP electric-only range for daily commutes, and an efficient 1.5-litre petrol engine to power longer journeys. The PHEV system delivers 299hp combined to the front wheels, and accelerates the MGS9 from 0-62mph in 9.6 seconds. The drivetrain can intelligently switch between petrol, electric, or combined running. Charging the 24.7kWh battery from a home wallbox takes 4 hours from flat-to-full.

A purposeful design sees the signature MG narrow headlights crowning a wide trapezoid grille with V-shaped detailing. The powerful front end hints at the 299hp powertrain within, while the hockey stick-shaped side trim highlights the length of the cabin that has room for seven people. With its versatile 7-seat interior, the new MGS9 has space for all of life’s adventures. Two seats rise from the boot floor to allow extra passenger capacity. With the third row stowed, the 1026 litre boot means large items or holiday luggage can fit easily. Two ISOFIX points for child seats feature on the middle row, while a pair of ergonomically designed seats are found up front. A pair of 12.3" high-definition displays are angled towards the driver, allowing for convenient operation.
