The McLaren P1
Designed, engineered and built to be the best driver’s car in the world.
The McLaren P1 is the spiritual successor the of McLaren F1. As part of the McLaren Ultimate Series, the P1, which became the world's first hybrid supercar in the world, has been designed to give the same aerodynamics as a Formula 1 car.
The McLaren P1 epitomises McLaren's quest to push the limits of what you may of thought possible in a car.

To make sure the McLaren P1 could deliver extraordinary results right across the board, the exclusive model underwent comprehensive testing. The results meant that the P1 could function in the hottest and coldest of climates.
The McLaren P1 undertook performance testing, cold weather testing and hot weather testing to ensure the P1 was capable of driving in extreme conditions.
A mid-mounted twin-turbocharged V8 engine is incorporated with an IPAS electric system to create the world's first hybrid supercar. Reaching an electrically limited top speed of 217mph, the McLaren P1 can reach 186mph in just 16.5 seconds, whilst taking just 2.8 seconds to reach 62mph. The acceleration of the P1 is impressive, especially when compared to the non-electric McLaren F1 model.
The IPAS electrical system is one of the most powerful hybrid powertrains fitted into a car, and is capable of handling on-track race challenges - to which the active aerodynamics maximise the downforce and reduce drag.
With unrivalled power and performance, equally powerful braking is required which is delivered via a new type of carbon ceramic brake discs that are capable of absorbing 50% more energy than conventional carbon rotors.
Designed to be one of the world's best-looking cars, McLaren focused on a flawless design, both inside and out.
An iconic symbol from McLaren, the P1's dihedral doors, inspired by the McLaren F1, are designed to be even lighter and more aerodynamic than other conventional doors, meaning they are more practical and make it easier to enter and leave the cockpit.
The body of the P1 is purposefully shrink-wrapped over the mechanical points, whilst the cockpit sits in the very centre of the car. The frontal surface area is reduced as a result of this approach, to create a smooth, distinctive shape that holds presence on both the road and the track.
The cabin features lightweight sports seats with ultra-thin carbon-fibre shells which are both strong and surprisingly comfortable. With an exposed carbon-fibre cabin, it doesn't just save weight but proves the interior trim can be luxurious and sports conscious, too.
The steering wheel is part carbon, part Alcantara, designed with DRAS and IPAS system buttons in reach to ensure the driver is at the heart of the dynamic experience.
The McLaren P1 lives up to its rightful place in the Ultimate Series, with groundbreaking technologies present across all aspects of the model. The P1 has arguably been design with the complexities of an aircraft as opposed to a conventional car.
Equipped with Race Active Chassis Control, the P1 has the most advanced suspension system probably ever fitted to a road car. The system successfully combines impressive body control and flat cornering, whilst car body height can be adjusted when required. Race mode, in particular, alters the body height by reducing it by 50mm and increasing spring shift by 300%.
Just like other McLaren models, the McLaren P1 is no exception to bespoke options available via the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) options.
