Grenadier: choose your carrying kit
Start with the kit you actually carry, then choose the fittings that keep it organised. Grenadier’s accessory range offers useful options above the roof and inside the loadspace.
At a glance
- For the roof: compare cross-bars and a rack around the equipment you intend to mount.
- Inside the car: a luggage organiser and compatible cargo barrier serve different jobs.
- Before ordering: confirm model fitment, load limits and the complete fitting quotation.
Cross-bars or a full roof rack?
Cross-bars provide mounting points for compatible carrying equipment. A roof rack offers a broader platform for suitable loads and add-on accessories.
Choose around the load: its size, weight and the approved way to secure it. Confirm that the carrier and mounting kit are compatible with each other.
Also mention Safari Windows when discussing fitment. Ask which rack or bar arrangement suits the vehicle and the roof access you want to retain.
Count the rack before the luggage
INEOS quotes up to 150kg dynamic roof load for the Station Wagon. Its press specification states that the rack’s weight is included in that roof-load allowance.
The published 420kg static figure applies when parked. It is not the amount you can carry on the roof while driving.
Use the lowest applicable vehicle, rack, bar or carrier limit, and account for the load in the vehicle’s payload. Ask the team to check your exact arrangement.
Give loose kit a place
A luggage organiser helps group smaller items in the loadspace. It is useful for the things you want to find quickly without unpacking the whole car.
A cargo barrier has a different role: separating the load area from the passenger space. It does not remove the need to secure individual items appropriately.
Explain whether rear passengers, dogs or bulky equipment are normally part of the journey. Check the correct product and any seating restrictions for your particular Grenadier.
A useful surface when you stop
The tailgate table creates a surface for equipment when the vehicle is parked. It is worth considering if your trips involve preparing kit at the back of the car.
Ask about its fitted position, permitted load and how it stows. Check that your other loadspace accessories leave the access you need.
Check the full installation
INEOS says many genuine accessories can be fitted after purchase, while some require workshop installation. Use the applicable fitting instructions rather than assuming every item is a simple add-on.
Our INEOS Midlands and INEOS Edinburgh teams can check compatibility by model and variant, including whether you have a Station Wagon or Quartermaster.
Ask for an itemised quotation covering supports, mounting hardware, fitting and any other required parts. For a new car, compare it with the current Grenadier offers and your chosen build.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fit Grenadier accessories after buying the car?
INEOS says many accessories can be fitted after purchase. Confirm compatibility and whether the product requires workshop installation.
Is a roof rack the same as cross-bars?
No. They are different mounting arrangements. Choose the compatible system around the load and carrier you intend to use.
Can I drive with 420kg on the roof?
No. INEOS’s 420kg figure is static, for the vehicle when parked. The quoted Station Wagon dynamic roof-load limit is up to 150kg, including the rack, subject to the applicable fitting limits.
Does a cargo barrier secure everything in the boot?
No. It separates the passenger and load areas; the luggage still needs suitable loading and securing. Check the vehicle handbook and accessory instructions.
Can every accessory fit a Station Wagon and Quartermaster?
Do not assume so. INEOS advises checking fitment by model and variant. Give the Grange team your registration or proposed vehicle specification.
