Multiple sportscar champion Darren Turner will make a full-season return to the British GT Championship with new Aston Martin partner team Full Send Racing, driving alongside team director Dan Lavery in the GT4 Pro-Am class in 2026.
The Aston Martin works driver, embarking on his 22nd consecutive season with the ultra-luxury performance brand, is no stranger to the class having achieved back-to-back GT4 Pro-Am championship titles in 2021 and ’22. This time he will be racing the latest variant of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, like that which achieved debut title success in the British GT Championship in 2024.
“I’m really excited to be returning to the British GT Championship,” said Darren. “It’s always super competitive, and as a driver it’s a rewarding series to go racing. It’s also one I’ve enjoyed success with in the recent past.
“To be heading into the season with a brand-new team, and a fresh, brand-new challenge is super exciting. You can already feel real belief amongst the crew, and that’s a great place to start from.”
The team, which is supported by Grange Motors and used car specialist company Cinch, will run under the Grange Racing with FSR banner and has already been testing extensively ahead of its debut in the 2026 season. Its target is to win the British GT GT4 class title outright, as well as the Pro-Am class.
“That sounds like a tall order,” says Turner, “but I believe it’s achievable. Based on the work we have been doing with Dan and the team, there is a great deal of potential, and everything feels very on point. It’s a new adventure, with a new team, a new driver and there is lots to learn for everybody, but it feels like all the right people are in the right place, and everyone has the right attitude to do a really good job.”
Turner’s teammate Lavery, has two seasons of one-make BMW under his belt, and is being guided by team principal Elliott Cole who was himself a former British GT racer in the mid-2000s.
“Dan is showing real potential,” said Turner. “Testing has gone well.
“Dan’s pace is absolutely there, and his overall ability and performance is very much where it needs to be at this stage of the programme. Obviously, there is a lot to learn, and Dan has not got a great deal of experience with this type of car, but from what I have seen so far, it’s all looking very encouraging.”
Turner’s British GT season begins on Sunday, 26th of April, when the series kicks off with its blue riband event – the three-hour Silverstone 500 enduro. You can follow all the races live on https://www.britishgt.com/ or the official series YouTube channel.
