Alpine A290: choose your trim

Alpine UK model page checked 22 October 2026. Before-grant figures above add £3,750 to the advertised starting prices. GOV.UK lists A290 in Band 1, with a maximum £3,750 discount; confirm eligibility and the final configured vehicle quotation. Options can change the total.
GT+: begin with the everyday essentials
The current UK page lists GT+ with 19-inch ICONIC wheels, intelligent adaptive cruise control and a 10.1-inch Alpine-Portal system with Google built-in and Arkamys audio.
This is the place to begin if you want the A290 shape, five-door access and electric hatchback format without selecting every cabin upgrade. Try the seats and controls before deciding that a higher trim is necessary.
The GT+ configurator labels its motor at 180hp and its battery at 52kWh. It is a distinct version: do not apply the range-wide maximum power figure to every A290.
GT Performance+: focus on the driving equipment
GT Performance+ is the next starting-price step, £2,500 above GT+ on the grant-inclusive figures. Its UK highlights include Michelin Pilot Sport 5S tyres, red Brembo four-piston front callipers and Alpine Telemetrics Expert.
The current configurator lists a 220hp motor for this version. The useful question is whether you value its stronger performance and particular tyre specification on the roads you use.
Ask about tyre replacement and your intended seasonal use as well as acceleration. A performance tyre’s name should never be treated as a promise of equal suitability in every temperature or weather condition.
GTS+: make the cabin part of the decision
GTS+ uses a 220hp motor and starts £1,500 above GT Performance+ on the advertised grant-inclusive figures. Alpine’s UK page highlights SNOWFLAKE wheels, an extended Bleu Profond/Gris Evee Nappa leather interior and Devialet premium audio.
If those are features you would otherwise add or wish you had, compare the complete configured totals. If your priority is the driving equipment alone, review GT Performance+ first.
Listen to the audio and examine upholstery samples if available. Screens and photographs help you shortlist a finish, but they cannot establish how a colour, surface or seating position will suit you in person.
Read a specification by version, not by headline
Alpine’s model-page headline combines range-wide maximums for power and WLTP range. Those figures describe different aspects of the range and should not be read as the specification of every car.
Use the exact derivative’s final WLTP specification for journey planning rather than lifting the largest number from a banner. Temperature, speed, load and heating use can change the range you achieve on the road.
At your appointment, confirm the wheel and tyre specification, motor, battery, driver-assistance equipment and any optional packs together. A similar-looking earlier GT or GT Premium advertisement may not match a current “+” version.
Build your own shortlist before choosing
Start with three priorities: your normal journeys, the driving equipment you will use and the cabin features you notice every day. Price each candidate with the same paint and accessories.
For GT+, concentrate on whether the standard cabin and performance meet your needs. For GT Performance+, compare the driving specification; for GTS+, assess whether the richer interior and audio justify the additional spend.

Your questions answered
What are the current UK A290 trim names?
Alpine UK lists GT+, GT Performance+ and GTS+, checked 22 October 2026. Earlier advertisements may use other names.
Are the advertised prices already reduced by the grant?
Yes. The £30,245, £32,745 and £34,245 starting prices shown here include the advertised £3,750 Electric Car Grant. Confirm the qualifying vehicle and final order price.
Is every A290 rated at 220hp?
No. The current GT+ configurator lists 180hp; GT Performance+ lists 220hp. Check the exact version rather than applying the range maximum to every car.
Does GT+ include the GTS+ leather and Devialet system?
The UK model page lists textile upholstery and Arkamys audio among GT+ highlights; extended Nappa leather and Devialet are listed for GTS+. Options and final vehicle specification need checking.
