The one-off Alpine Lacoste A290 Rallye will parade at this year’s Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille (13 September), the centrepiece of an exclusive line-up from the French sports premium brand. It will be joined by a selection of heritage models spanning 70 years of Alpine passion and innovation, alongside cars from the brand's customer and club community — bringing together its past, present and future for one special day built on shared passion.
The Alpine Lacoste A290 Rallye is a truly unique creation born from a collaboration between two French icons united by performance, elegance and innovation. Officially named Beware of the Crocodile – Alpine Lacoste A290 Rallye, the car draws its starting point from the red of the crocodile's tongue, one of Lacoste's most recognisable details, carried through as a concept across the exterior and cabin. Built on the Alpine A290 Rallye, the brand's most extreme and performance-focused A290 derivative, it stands as a design object where motorsport meets lifestyle.
The car is a bold expression of modern electric performance, true to Alpine's DNA: widened tracks, a reinforced braking system and dedicated electric powertrain management deliver the immediate response and precision the platform is built for. Inside, an immersive red cabin and Lacoste's petit piqué fabric offer a contemporary vision of elegance inspired by motorsport, with 290 crocodile references worked into the design. At Chantilly, the car will be on display on the Alpine stand booth and will also take to the runway for the “concours d'élégance”.
