Oliver Hoffmann took over as Head of Technical Development at Audi Sport GmbH on October 1. He succeeds Stephan Reil in this role, and is now responsible for the upcoming product campaign from the Audi subsidiary brand. Most recently, 40-year-old liver Hoffmann worked on powertrain development at AUDI AG. Previously, his roles included quality management at Automobili Lamborghini and at the Audi factory in Gy?er, Hungary. "With the appointment of Oliver Hoffmann, we have gained a highly qualified manager for the Technical Development division," says Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Audi Sport GmbH. "With his experience and skills, Hoffmann will help to realise the expansion of the Audi Sport brand."
Vauxhall has released the first pictures of its all-new Insignia Grand Sport. Following on from the previous generation, which won the European Car of the Year in 2009, and sold over 30,000 in the UK last year, the Insignia Grand Sport is based on a completely new vehicle architecture. It is also the first Vauxhall with an active aluminium bonnet, improving pedestrian protection considerably. "Vauxhall is raising its game even further with the launch of the new Insignia Grand Sport," said Rory Harvey, Vauxhall's Chairman and Managing Director. "It has all of the virtues of its successful smaller brother the Astra, and takes those to a higher level. Jaguar Land Rover stole the limelight at the Paris Motor Show with a world premiere, a world record, a surprise announcement and a motorsport debut. The new Land Rover Discovery was the headline act on the show stand in Paris, fresh from its dramatic unveiling alongside a world record-breaking LEGO model of London's Tower Bridge. New Discovery arrived in Paris after a spectacular unveiling on a 13-metre high LEGO version of London's Tower Bridge. We've now caught sight of Land Rover's new full-sized, seven-seat SUV as the manufacturer has just released the first official teaser pictures.
